| SafeQuote is a FREE online instrument used by homeowners to secure the best bid possible on building and repair jobs around their home by reputable contractors in the area. By completing an online application in which you specify the job and time frame of your project, you are subsequently notifying member contractors that a potential job is available to them. In turn, relevant contractors are notified and they then respond with competitive bids for your project. |

| How does it work? |
You visit HICWNY.com and click on the SafeQuote banner. From there you create an account ID and password, which is completely free and confidential. To submit your project you enter information about the dwelling and the specific job and hit the “submit quote” key. Builders will only see the scope of your requested work and the geographical area when they are notified of the potential job.
Once you’ve done this, you can request quotes at any time by logging into the SafeQuote member’s area. |

| Why is SafeQuote so reputable? |
SafeQuote is a tool designed by the Home Improvement Council (HIC) of Western New York. All contractors associated with HIC are required to adhere to the highest standards of business practice. Members know that consumer confidence has to be earned. The various programs offered by the HIC to its members are geared to produce professionalism in all aspects of running a remodeling business. Members have the opportunity to keep abreast of the latest developments in products, applications, and innovations, which pertain to their particular specialties.
The HIC prides itself on its strong relationship with the Better Business of Western New York and the New York State Attorney General's Office.

| How many contractors will respond? |
| You may receive up to 4 free quotes from our contractors. HIC does all the legwork to make sure they meet the Home Improvement Council Standards. Only contractors who can provide the services, for which you are requesting bids, will request your contact information be sent to them. Once 4 contractors have requested your information, your job will no longer be available to our contractors to view unless you log in to SafeQuote and request additional quotes (Create a new request). |

| If I sign up with SafeQuote, am I obligated to accept a bid? |
| No. Safe Quote is a no-obligation estimate appointment system. |

| How do I accept a bid? |
| You will receive an email notification when one of our contractors selects to bid on your job that will include their contact information as well. When you have selected a contractor or you decided to hold of on your project and you are no longer accepting bids just log back onto HICWNY.com, enter your account ID and password and let us know. HIC will notify the other members quoting your job that you have made a decision. It is at your discretion once the contact is made whether our member will discuss your project over the phone or if an onsite visit to review the job will be required. |

You can be assured that all members operate by the HIC high code of honor and ethics, or in other words, they are “a good contractor”. However, because your time is valuable, as is our contractors', HICWNY.com does ask that only real jobs be submitted. |
