The Home Improvement Council Emblem helps to identify and protect the participating members of HIC and assures the prospective consumer that construction and remodeling work will be performed under the ethical standards of the Home Improvement Council.

Criteria for Membership
- Must have been in business for at least one year
- Holds liability insurance
- Holds worker's compensation insurance
- Must have customer references and supplier/credit references
- Must have written contracts to provide to customers
Additionally, all members are subject to an Ethics Committee review if a complaint is made against them. Be assured that hiring a member of the HIC is a smart choice!
